This includes bathing, diapering, feeding and helping to keep your baby safe.

Come join this rewarding class in preparation for taking home your baby. Meet in the Tower lobby and your instructor will escort you to your classroom. In this two-hour educational class, our lactation consultant will help familiarize expectant parents with the knowledge and skills they need to get breastfeeding off to a great start.

This two-hour class has been designed for the expectant couple who knows that their baby will be delivered by cesarean. In this class you will take a closer look into what to expect during a cesarean birth or C-section. This two-hour class will show a variety of comfort measures and coping techniques for labor.

Measures and techniques include releasing tension and relaxation, breathing patterns, positive labor positions, use of a birthing ball, dealing with back labor, use of heat and cold, visualization role of the labor partner. Please bring three pillows and a blanket or mat to this class, held in the Physical Therapy area on the first floor of the medical office building. This is especially for women who breastfeed and will be going back to work or school. It is recommended that you take this class when you are pregnant.

However, if you have a long maternity leave, you may choose to take this class after your baby is born, but at least four weeks before you plan to return to work or school. You may bring your baby to class with you. Grandparents-to-be are invited to join our two-hour session to learn of changes affecting baby care today.

Please join us for topics covered, including care of a newborn, changes in the role of grandparents, safety at home and car seat laws. This two-hour class has been designed for the expectant parents who have a pet and would like to learn some skills that will assist in a smoother transition when your baby arrives home. Riverside offers free car seat safety checks to be sure that you have installed your baby's car seat correctly. Please schedule this through Riverside Nurse at It's unlikely the need would arise, but if it did you would want to know exactly what to do.

This free class shows dads how to take care of their baby's needs, how to interact with their new baby and gives great tips from a father's perspective taught by a certified Fatherhood Consultant.
