Xp system tools folder

In reply to b1b13's post on November 19, There are a couple of boats here If you mean "Services", once you get your folder reloaded, right click the Administrative Tools and choose "Open" and that will open that folder and there will be a shortcut in there for every tool.

Everything you see in Programs, Control Panel, etc. If you right click the shortcut of interest and choose Properties, you will see what happens behind the scenes when you click that tool. A shortcut would be to just click Start, Run and in the box just enter this part from the shortcut: services. For Event Viewer you would just enter: eventvwr.

I am a lazy cuss. In reply to A. User's post on November 19, Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I mean "Services" where you go to manage services. Apologies for not including the fact that I'm running Windows 7 ultimate.

Thanks, kip. In reply to b1b13's post on November 21, I see Click Help. The Disk Cleanup window opens. Click the Disk Cleanup tab if it's not showing.

Disk Cleanup lists several potential files that can be deleted, as well as the amount of disk space you'll gain by emptying each one. To learn more about a file category, click it and click the View Files button. A description appears. Click the check boxes next to the categories you want to delete, then click OK.

A dialog box appears asking whether you are sure you want to perform these actions. Click Yes or No as appropriate. Disk Cleanup The More Options tab gives you even more disk cleanup options. The Scheduled Task Wizard Fortunately, you don't need to remember to run each of these utilities. The Scheduled Tasks folder opens. Double-click Add a Scheduled Task. All rights reserved. Vanette I am sorry to say, but your data seems to have been lost because your computer has been restored to the factory settings from HP installer CD.

I have never been able to use system restore with XP. I have tried on a couple of different computers but it has never ever worked. I have Norton security installed. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is? I am getting a message while taking system restore option from system tools. I click Yes nothing happens. What the? You must give yourself full rights to the System Volume Information folder, you will then be able to rename it.

If you right click on the folder and select properties, then select the secutity tab and add administrator. Once you add administrator you must select the Full Control option on the bottom, then click OK. I have tried the abovesaid method but failed to change the name of System Volume Information folder.

And thus failed to open the system restore. Then i searched on Google and find the solution. Here it is I am running XP home with SP2. Browser is IE7. These are run at least every week.
