The gameplay of this is something I really like. It is pure mayhem with tons of enemies coming at you at once and you needing to unleash devastating combos to put them in their place.

One thing I like is how there is a great selection of characters and each one has its own playstyle so experimenting is fun. I was very impressed with the number of game modes that were on offer here. The game has a story mode where you play as one of three characters and each one has their own story to experience so there is a reason to play the story with each character.

There is another mode called Gaiden Story Mode which is a story mode that is shorter, but lets you play as more characters. These story modes are fun, but also serve as a way to get new costumes for the characters.

Conquest Mode lets you try and take over the land by defeating the opposing forces. You also have two types of tournaments that you can take part in as well. For a game that was released all the way back in , it is stacked with content.

There is so much to keep you busy here. Fighting games these days have a lot of content, but when this was released what it offered really made it stand out from the crowd. I was rather ignorant of the series when I went into this, but Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes proved to be far more entertaining than I thought it would be. There is also a page ranking for Arena mode, so the classification is determined by the total amount of XP earned and the number of stages completed.

Furthermore, the problem of 'character clone' is omitted; The first game, Uesugi Kenshin and Matsu share the same set of motion gun. The same thing can be said Sarutobi Sasuke and Kasuga. In the second installment, Matsu has naginata and have the power to summon the animal.

Kasuga relies on four kunai with hand connected to the new skills honed while having a cable connected to the light energy.

Kenshin weapons and abilities and Sasuke remains the same as the first installment. When playing Unification mode, players can find and fight Miyamoto Musashi. The Basara Devil Kings Fury Drive attack meter is filled by killing enemies and take Basara-goods, or when the joke is done without interruption of the enemy.

Money can be earned through play. Blue chest containing gold and yellow boxes carried by enemy soldiers. The enemies fought in rounds are also different. The roulette feature that appears after clearing each round is removed. Players are still awarded the best weapon and armor for the characters used by winning and 50 rounds respectively, and can still save every 10 rounds to keep the progress. The EXP gained from clearing the rounds are divided among the 2 characters used.

Ultimate Grand Tournament is mainly the same as Grand Tournament. However, instead of getting EXP for clearing rounds, gold is rewarded. There is also a time limit which refills and accumulates upon clearing each round. Another new mode added in this game.
